Chaverim is a social program for adults over age 18 with developmental disabilities, with programs in the West Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley.

LILA (Living Independently in Los Angeles)

LILA is a local resource for individuals with disabling conditions.  There are dentists, riding programs, art programs, community services available.  Nice feature:  type in your zip code and see what's around the corner from you.  (Disclaimer:  I have a listing as a resource on this site)

Smart Start
SmartStart is a private child development center. The children reflect the socio-economic, ethnic, cultural, and developmental diversity of the community.  SmartStart serves children of all developmental levels, including children with special needs, with expertise in autism and disorders of relating and communicating. SmartStart offers: infants stimulation, early intervention, special education, DIR/Floortime home programs, speech therapy and occupational therapy. SmartStart is vendored with the Regional Center and a certified Non-Public School.

Special Needs Network, Inc.

Local resource providing education, advocacy, and public policy.  LILA is a local resource for individuals with disabling conditions.   Website is not yet up and running, however you can contact the Co-Founder, Donna Ross-Jones at 323-860-7986 if you wish more information.

SNN's mission is to raise public awareness of developmental disabilities and to impact public policy, while providing education and resources to families, children and adults. SNN serves as a link between underserved communities and mainstream developmental disability organizations and governmental institutions, which often fail to address issues specific to these communities.

About Special Needs Network: Special Needs Network, Inc. (SNN) is a non-profit, community-based organization founded to respond to the needs in the underserved segment of the special needs population, primarily as it relates to autism. SNN was founded and is led by Donna Ross-Jones and Areva D. Martin, Esq., two mothers of sons with developmental disabilities. Ms. Jones is President and CEO of Transition Music Corporation and Areva D. Martin, Esq., a Harvard Law School graduate, is founder and Managing Partner of Martin & Martin, LLP.
